Judith Phiri, Karien’s assistant at Wild Side in Livingstone, experienced one of the three new Kayube bungalows for the first time last weekend with her husband Joseph and one-year old daughter Chikondi. This is her story:

“Having spent a weekend at Kayube with my family, and as the first to stay in “Totulalu”, it felt like Christmas came early this year. The bungalows are so fantastic with superb scenery.

Our experience was so unforgettable; it will be always in our minds and hearts.

It was my husband‘s first time to spend a night at the Bank of the Zambezi River, waking up to sound of the birds and the hippos. What a great weekend we had and Chikondi had such fun (only if I knew what was going through her mind.) She was full of smiles and played around the deck.

On Sunday morning we went on cruise with Hans and Eva who stayed in the Mama Out of Africa. It was an amazing time with our Captain (Munene) who knew so much on birds, the animals and nature. Our eyes feasted on hippos, crocodiles, warthog and monkeys; I can go on and on. The place is just so beautiful and lovely that one night seemed so short. Memories keep flashing on and on every minute.

Joseph and I are so happy to have had that wonderful experience and very thankful to the Kermer family. Our joy can never be explained nor expressed more than this but will forever be written in our hearts. It’s a place that one has to visit longer and experience the great, peaceful and memorable nature of the Kayube Estate, it’s really a great place to long for”.
