David Lemon arrives at Kayube Estate

.Image

David Lemon enjoyed his first pot of tea with a big piece of strawberry cake after a very long walk!!!

Yesterday 6th August at 11.00 am David Lemon arrived at Kayube Estate 25 km out of Livingstone. By now David has travelled approx. 1600 km. Because access was denied into Angola he could not walk the total length of the Zambezi and travelled the approx 400 km to where the Zambezi re-enters Zambia by road on trucks and mini buses but walked the 1200 km along the Zambezi.  Nearly half way to the coast now….

Yes he lost a lot of weight, his biggest worry, nearly 20 kg. David will be our guest for some time. We are determent to get some weight back onto him, for the next long journey. He is great company!!!

Some more on David’s adventures to follow soon!!!

  1. Love to read about this amazing chap, an inspiration, I only discovered David’s exploits because I wondered about trekking align the river myself, so need any walking mates?

    • In the meantime David has moved on and is walking the Kalomo river that joins the Zambezi again at the end of the Batoka Gorge. Nice offer Jill but David wants to walk it alone. More on his walk on this blog shortly
