White water rafting season opens again

For those wanting to hit the thrills and spills of the rapids of the Zambezi, it’s all go! After only a few weeks the waters are low enough to do the last series of rapids, no 14-23.

For Jo Stallman of Bundu Adventures and senior trip leader Potato (“I come from a big family, my parents ran out of names!”) Chisangwa, a river veteran of 15 years, it can’t come a moment too soon.  The team of river guides did a ‘recce’ at the end of on the second section of rapids and declared it safe to take guests again.

Potato Chisangwa of Bundu Adventures has been guiding white water rafting for 15 years

Apart from white water rafting day trips Bundu also offer an overnight rafting trip, sleeping on a sandy beach on the way. It includes 35 rapids in total.

A totally new adventure to be introduced is Swimming Underneath the Falls, which Jo hopes to start in August or September this year. As the only operator with the concession of running these trips, Jo expects this to become very popular.

Bundu also offer canoeing trips on the Upper Zambezi, fishing and rafting combo’s (‘extreme fishing’), and two week mobile safaris throughout Zambia.
